I got a job 2

Hey Classmates that Read this Blog,

I just wanted to share with you the news that I got a job working as a Sr. Management Analyst for the City of San Antonio. Senior you ask, how did I pull that off. Well I lied about my age. Haha I know, lame joke. My wife and I are very excited! Best wishes to all.

Yes, I did copy and paste most of Mike's post. But it's not plagiarism since I gave him credit.

Cheers,

B-Hal

LinkedIn Group

Hey Guys,

I know there's already a LinkedIn group for Romney Institute grads, but I thought it would be useful and more personal to have one just for our graduating class. Check out "BYU MPA Class of 2009" on LinkedIn.

Can anyone guess the location?

So I decided to take Brian's advice and get up five minutes earlier (see comment from last blog post). And look what I accomplished! Okay, so I had a little help from Rebecca who pushed me part way up the mountain. In any case it was a great day hiking. First prize goes to the person who can identify where we are.

My very first blog post ever

Like Sarah and Billy, being unemployed has given me an opportunity to hone all kinds of fun skills. And after this post, I can add blogging to my list of new tricks.

My parents have put me to work doing things around the house. Here are before and after pictures of one of the projects--making new cushions for this glider.

Before
After

My next big project is painting the outside of the house with my dad. I've never done it before, but how hard can it be? I agreed to do it on the condition that I get to wear white painters overalls. Now if I could only figure out a way to make sewing cushions and painting houses sound good on my resume...

Stretching my domestic muscles

Well, I've not been nearly as productive as Billy. (And it is well worth the click to their Picasa album, if you haven't already looked at their pictures.)

Here is a post on my personal blog, chronicling my attempts to follow in my SIL's footsteps, who just happens to be a domestic goddess.

Did I ever tell you about how my Dad told me that I had to start being more domestic? I was 15-16 at the time, and you can imagine the reaction that comment provoked.

PS
Feel free, if you have a personal blog, to link to it from here. No need to write twice. We are no longer in school, so I think all busy work should be behind us, don't you?

I'm unemployed and got lots of fancy new hobbies

That's right. I got hobbies, yes I do, I got hobbies, how bout you?! First on the list, gardening. I planted a Peonie yesterday. Yes, it's a flower.

Next, road trips. Scott Seline, (as in Celine Dion) went to Texas and what did we do? That's right, we hit up a Dallas City Council meeting. Then we went urban birding in some of the local parks. We went to CDM thrift store, thanksgiving square, and even saw a sweet racing car. In the end we were paid $80 for transporting somebody's stuff back to Provo. I found a card on the ride board offering money to bring bikes and picture frames back, but they didn't tell us we had to bring back dried wedding roses. Ridiculous!! We smashed em' up pretty good, but they were still happy to have them. Here's our urban birding video. If you want to see our Texas photos, click here.
